About The Instructor
Pamela A. Paulhus, MD, FAAP
Hello, and thank you for your interest in Pediatrics and Parents. As a pediatrician and former educator, I have truly enjoyed creating this course.
I'm a Yale-trained pediatrician, a Diplomate of The National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
After completing my studies in biology at The King's College, I attended Fordham University to obtain my master's degree in biology. From there, I taught chemistry or biology at the high school or college levels, respectively, and then helped to manage a vocational rehabilitation program for the disabled. Though I enjoyed all of these roles, I could not get the lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician out of my head and heart. One of the best days of my life was receiving the acceptance letter from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. After receiving my M.D., I began my residency in pediatrics at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Those seven years of medical school and residency were amazing, and they laid the foundation for the rest of my career. Over the years, I've been able to put my medical training to use in a variety of ways and places - private and/or non-profit outpatient and inpatient settings, international medical missions, and national radio or television to speak on international adoption. But my favorite thing is day-to-day pediatrics - keeping children healthy, watching them grow, and developing relationships with the families over the years. I especially treasured this in 2012 when - following a year long recovery from a car accident - I had a joyous return to medicine.
I've been a pediatrician since 1997, and I still love it. It's truly an honor to take care of families' precious little (or not-so-little) ones. Thank you to all my patients and their families over all these years!
Last, thank you for your interest in the course. All the best to you and your families always!
